Return to Rescue Animals

Ready for rehoming…

Cleo is 14 year old, Miami phase corn snake. She has been probed as female. Cleo was handed in after her owners were flooded out of their home, and were unable to return. They have unfortunately moved somewhere without the space to accommodate her.

Cleo was kept her entire life in a 3ft wooden vivarium, with no additional heat, and straw as a substrate. She was fed on multiple pinkies every week.

She is a beautiful colour, in good health besides being slightly overweight. She has been tested for parasites, with only traces of pinworm present, so has not been treated at this stage.

She is a nervous snake to handle, and will musk to try to escape. When that fails she has bitten in her frustration. She has since improved to tolerate quiet handling, but will require a patient new family.

Lots of trust building needed and patience.

Care Requirements:

Cleo will need a 4ft vivarium as a minimum, to allow space to exercise and move around. A caged, overhead heat source should be fitted with a suitable thermostat to maintain a warm-side temperature of 32C. The cool side should sit below 23C. A low-level UV bulb should be provided – 5% ideally. She is currently on a standard diet of large mouse every 2-3 weeks.
