Return to Rescue Animals

Under Quarantine…
Gilligan is a new intake so is currently in his minimum quarantine period.
Gilligan is a male bearded dragon of 5 or 6 years old. He was surrendered due to his keeper feeling they could no longer care for him after worries for his health. Gilligan went straight into a beardie-free foster home for his quarantine due to concerns about Adenovirus.
His previous enclosure consisted of a 4x2x2ft vivarium with overhead heat. He had slate and smooth flooring as substrate and was fed mixed salad, fruit as a treat and live insects such as dubia roaches and morio worms.
Gilligan is a friendly boy and would suit a first time reptile keeper. He arrived quite small, possibly stunted in growth with Metabolic Bone Disease. Due to concerns for Adenovirus, he is being tested during his quarantine period.
A little guy full of character!
Care Requirements:
Gilligan will need a minimum of 4x2x2ft wooden vivarium to allow for correct temperature and UVB gradients. A white basking bulb should be fitted at one end of the enclosure, powered through a dimming thermostat to maintain a temperature between 40-45C. A 10-14% UVB tube should be fitted across the top of the enclosure, ideally with a reflector directing the UVB downwards. A combination of hard and loose substrate will ideally be provided to allow for natural behaviours. Gilligan is fed fresh salad daily and live insects 2-3 times a week with Calcidust and Nutrobal supplements.
