Dawson

Return to Rescue Animals

Ready for rehoming (reserved)…

Dawson is a young, Miami-phase male corn snake, thought to be around 12-18 months old on arrival. Dawson was found by a family out walking their dog in some bushes in the Dawley Bank area of Telford. The family housed Dawson temporarily for a few days whilst ringing around various vets and trying to find a lost owner via Facebook. When they had had no success they contacted us as they couldn’t keep him permanently.

Apart from being underweight, Dawson is in good condition. He is a very keen feeder and a generally active, happy snake considering the circumstances in which he was found.

Dawson is quite laid back and well-behaved when being handled. He has not shown any signs of aggression/defensive behaviour since being in our care, but is very food orientated so with hesitant hands, he may become nippy.

A sweet little snake in need of a loving, secure home.

Care Requirements:

Dawson will need a 4x1x1ft vivarium as a minimum, to allow space to exercise and move around. A caged, overhead heat source should be fitted with a suitable thermostat to maintain a warm-side temperature of 32C. The cool side should sit below 23C. A low-level UV bulb should be provided – 5-7% ideally. He is currently eating medium mice weekly.

Our care guide for corn snakes can be found HERE.
