Return to Rescue Animals

Dawson was found by a family out walking their dog in some bushes in the Dawley Bank area of Telford. The family housed Dawson temporarily for a few days whilst ringing around various vets and trying to find a lost owner via Facebook. When they had had no success they contacted us as they couldn’t keep him permanently. He is believed to be between 1-2 years old and probed as male.

Apart from being underweight Dawson is in considerably good health especially considering that we have no idea how long he could have been fending for himself outside. Dawson has been a very keen feeder and is a very active and happy snake considering the circumstances in which he was found.

Dawson is a really laid back, docile snake who loves to come out and be handled. Dawson has not shown any signs of aggression/defensive behaviour since being in our care.

A sweet little snake in need of a loving, secure home.

Care Requirements:

Dawson will need a 4x1x1ft vivarium as a minimum, to allow space to exercise and move around. A caged, overhead heat source should be fitted with a suitable thermostat to maintain a warm-side temperature of 32C. The cool side should sit below 23C. A low-level UV bulb should be provided – 5% ideally. He is currently eating small mice every 5-7 days.

Our care guide for corn snakes can be found HERE.
