Return to Rescue Animals
Available for rehoming..
Trev is a 4 year old bearded dragon, believed to be male. He was surrendered as his previous keepers felt they no longer had time to handle him regularly due to a new baby.
He was kept in a 4ft wooden vivarium with a heat bulb and UV. He was fed morio worms, hoppers and wax worms as he refused salad. He would only drink from a spray bottle.
Trev was dehydrated on his arrival (most likely due to his diet and drinking habits). He has a slight underbite and abnormally shaped front limbs (possibly because of Metabolic Bone Disease).
He is very friendly and loves being out and about.
Needs some patience but loves people!
Trev will need a 4x2x2ft vivarium as a minimum, to allow space to exercise and move around. An overhead heat source should be fitted with a suitable thermostat to maintain a warm-side temperature of 38-43C. The cool side should sit below 30C and 18C at night. A high-level UV bulb should be provided both for a day/night cycle and for UV – 10-12% ideally. Trev should be fed fresh salad daily and staple insects two or three times a week (locusts, crickets, dubia roaches). These should be dusted with calcium and a calcium with Vitamin D3 powder alternatively.
