Celestia arrived with us in 2024, and was found by a member of the public outside their house in an animal cage alongside Eclipse. We don’t know her history due to this. We believe she may be a dwarf variety of reticulated python, however consideration must be taken in case she grows to adult standard sizes. She has not been sexed, but has been dubbed female by our team so far.
She arrived dehydrated and underweight, but otherwise healthy. She was treated for mycoplasma last year due to positive test results in Eclipse (another reticulated python), but has not shows signs of disease.
She is a typical retic, very sharp to handle and is currently only handled during enclosure maintenance and when aiding with stuck shed. This is done with a hook and protective equipment.
