Shutter is a young, amelanistic corn snake who was found after he fell from a shutter door on an industrial estate. We beleive he was around 6-12 months old when he arrived.
He was taken to our vets immediately as he had a large kink in his spine, with small wounds around it. Upon x-ray it didn’t seem there was any recent trauma to his spine, but the ribs are misshapen. With antibiotics and pain relief, the wounds healed and the kink is much less noticable. It does not affect him in any way.
Shutter was quite nervous and bitey when he arrived, however this could have been due to pain. He has since calmed down and is a lovely little snake.
Please Note – Shutter is still quite small, and may need a more secure, smaller enclosure until he is grown. We can discuss this upon applications.

Adult Care Requirements:
- Minimum 4×1.5×1.5ft (120x45x45cm) wooden/PVC vivarium
- Caged overhead halogen heat bulb
- Dimming thermostat, maintaining 32ºC in the basking area
- Cool side temperature of 23ºC
- Caged low-level UVB light, usually a 5-7% bulb
- A suitable, safe substrate – lignocel for example
- Lots of clutter, at least 2 fully enclosed hides on either side of the vivarium, and a large water bowl
- Appropriate diet – large mouse every 2-3 weeks.
